Layer 2 Protocols in Use

Alterium utilizes advanced Layer 2 protocols such as State Channels and Optimistic Rollups.

State Channels allow participants to conduct multiple transactions off-chain, with the blockchain involved only at the start and end of the process. This approach greatly enhances the speed and capacity of transactions, making it ideal for high-frequency interactions.

Optimistic Rollups, on the other hand, are a scaling technique that keeps transaction data on-chain but executes computation off-chain. They improve the transaction throughput of Ethereum by orders of magnitude while ensuring a high level of security and benefiting from the decentralization of the main chain.
